Notes for EDNA BELL KARR:

On Wednesday afternoon, Jan 6, 1909, at 3:30, at the home of the bride's father, Mr. G.W. Karr, on West Center St. in Paxton, Illinois occurred the marriage of Miss Edna B Karr and Mr. Carl F Duncan, son of Mr and Mrs. W.H. Duncan, of Potomac, Il.

Some fifty guests were present at the wedding and the home was very beautifully decorated with smilax and carnations, the color scheme being green and white.

The ceremony which was performed in the parlor of the home by Rev. S. Elwood Fisher, pastor of the First Christion church, was a very beautiful and impressive one.  The bridesmaids were Mrs. Fred Hoebel of Chicago, and Miss Amy Marsh of this city, while the groom was attended by Mr. lFred Hoebel, of Chicago.

While Mr. Lee Ireland played Loehngrin's wedding march, the officiating clergyman and the groom and his attendant descended the front stairway and took their places in the parlor.  Here they wree met by the bride and her attendants who descended the rear stairway of the home, making their way to the parlor through lines of ribbon stretched by the Misses Millie Ireland, Lorene Wilson, Marguerite Clark and Merrie Mills. The brike looked very beautiful indeed in a gown of white batiste, while the groom appeared at his best in a suit of black.

Immediately after the ceremony and congratulations the company was served with a four-course lap dinner, the cateress being Mrs. Rushman, of Champaign, and the waiters being four girl friends of the bride.

The happy couple left on the evening trainfor Chicago, going from there to Quincy, Il for a short visit with friends.  Upon their return they will beginhousekeeping on a farm 3 miles northeast of Potomac.

Many very beautiful wedding presents were received, consistingof cut glass, silverware, table linen and other articles useful for the home. The gifts also included a check for %500 from the bride's father.

Those present from out of town at the wedding were:  J.B. Chambers and wife, of Danville:  A.B. Duncan and wife, of Danville:  C.M. Duncan, wife and son, of Penfield:  Messrs. Claude and Fred Duncan of Ordway, OO. Mrs E.H. Copeland and Mr and Mrs H.S. Copeland and two daughters, of Potomac:  Masters Glenn and Martin Collison of Rantoul:  Messrs Wm. Archer and Chas Jester of Potomac:  and Waler R Karr, of Gibbon, Neb. Because of the fact that the bride's grandfather, J.O. Martin, who had been ill for some time, took a sudden change for the worse and was then lying at the point  of death, a number of relatives were prevented from attending the wedding.
